Big numbers for the Pisa event: over 65.000 people connected to the official channels for 2012 edition of the Internet Festival, which hosted 400 speakers, involved in over 150 events – including 107 meetings, 40 workshops, four exhibitions – in 22 locations. The Festival confirmed to be an international event with a strong foreign presence in conferences and meetings and with very valuable speakers from all over the world. Continue reading

Digital Cultural Heritage Roadmap for Preservation (DCH-RP) is a Coordination Action supported by EC FP7 e-Infrastructures Programme, which will be adding more concrete results in the specific area of the digital preservation of cultural heritage. TopFoto is an independent picture library based in Edenbridge, Kent, England. The archive contains 10 million images from medieval documents to today’s digital files being sent in by FTP from all over the world.The core of the hardcopy archive comprises of 120000 negatives from John Topham (an individual photographer and TopFoto’s founder) plus millions of negatives and hardcopy prints from a variety of historic press agencies that have been collected since 1975.
