In its newsletter of July 2015 Pep’s, the plan for the Préservation et Exploitation des Patrimoines promoted by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, presents the documentary film dedicated to Belgian architect and designer Victor Horta, pioneer of the “Art Nouveau”. The film is available on Numeriques.be, portal collecting in digital format the treasures of important cultural institutions and archives in Belgium’s francophone region. The Fédération recognises the importance of the cultural diversity as fundamental value of the global riches and in safeguard of such value supports the digitisation projects carried on by the participant institutions. International model for an eSchool in DCH

On Monday 29 June 2015, the networked school of digital cultural heritage, arts and humanities was presented at the Aula Magna Cavallerizza Reale of Turin’s University. It is an Italian model, conceived on a European and international perspective, grouping together over fifty organisations with the aim of creating a “scattered campus”, able to activate a nationally coordinated training offer which constructs a complex of digital competences. An Italian thought for skills development in Digital Cultural Heritage

The Italian Networked School of Digital Cultural Heritage, Arts and Humanities (DiCultHer) will start its activities with a meeting, taking place in Turin on 29 June 2015. The convention is aimed at defining the project framework and the strategic policies arisen during several encounters of the last months, merged in the draft document “An Italian thought for skills development in Digital Cultural Heritage”, which the meeting is intended to finalise. China and Italy debate on agriculture and sustainability

The Chinese delegation of the Bureau of Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition and of institutional representatives from Beijing’s Municipality was in an official mission last week at the Only Italia space of Aquae Venezia. During a Round Table, China and Italy discussed about biological agriculture, environmental sustainability and global development of the fruit & vegetable industry. Next meeting will take place in China, in view of a possible cooperation in the framework of the Beijing Expo in 2019. Continue reading

NALIS Forum 2015 successfully concluded

The fourth NALIS Forum (Sofia, 12 May 2015) concluded successfully, attended by many international experts from leading libraries and library networks, museums, universities and cultural organisations. Among the special guests, delegates of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture. Antonella Fresa of Promoter SRL took part in the conference as invited speaker. Lecturers (from Europe and USA) shared their experience in local and global collaboration (not only within the library community, but also within the IT community) in the framework of projects involving the digitisation of cultural heritage, creative re-use of digitised cultural contents and citizen participation.
