12th International Conference on Digital Preservation

On November 6th, ArchivesSpace, University of Michigan, University of North Carolina, Educopia Institute and Internet Archive are running a workshop called “Using Open-Source Tools to Fulfill Digital Preservation Requirements”. The workshop offers a space to talk about open-source software for digital preservation, and the particular challenges of developing systems and integrating them into local environments and workflows. AMIA 2015 Conference

The annual AMIA Conference is the largest gathering of motion picture and recorded sound archivists and interested professionals, involving every year more than 550 attendees from the world’s major media, library, university, military and other institutions. JTS Joint Technical Symposium

Under the auspices of UNESCO, the CCAAA (Coordinating Council of Audiovisual Archives Associations) organises the Joint Technical Symposium (JTS), an international gathering for all specialists of the audio-visual, cinema and sound heritage. Organized for the first time in 1983, JTS is the international meeting for organisations and individuals involved in the preservation and restoration of original image and sound materials. PASIG 2016 Conference

The next PASIG (Preservation and Archiving Special Interest Group) conference, which will be held in Prague in March 2016, represents a great opportunity for organisations setting up preservation repositories to collaborate and work directly with leaders in the field. Innovative Libraries In a Digital Environment

For the 19th time, the beautiful surroundings of Low Tatras will create a scenery for the ILIDE 2016 Conference where as usually the digital preservation, digital collections access and digital processing experts from around the world will gather. Antonella Fresa, Technical Coordinator of PREFORMA, will present the project, focusing in particular on the open source approach and on the forthcoming testing phase, showing how the conformance checkers can be used and integrated in other systems. nestor Praktikertag 2016

Peter Pharow and Stefan Rohde-Enslin will present the PREFORMA project at the nestor Praktikertag, which will take place at the State and University Library Dresden (SLUB) on 14 June 2016. The event brings together experts from different communities to learn and discuss new developments and practical approaches to digital preservation. PREFORMA @ Göteborg Book Fair

Bengt Neiss from the National Library of Sweden will present the PREFORMA project during a seminar organised by PERICLES in the framework of the Göteborg Book Fair. The seminar, entitled “How can we access digital objects created 20 years ago and 100 years from now?” will discuss the latest findings on digital preservation from the European scientific project PERICLES and the current experiences of major players in digital preservation. IASA 2016 Annual Conference

The International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA) 47th Annual Conference will be hosted at the Library of Congress, Washington D.C., USA, from 25-29 September 2016. PREFORMA @ iPRES 2016 Conference

iPRES is the premier international conference on the preservation and long term management of digital materials. The 13th International Conference on Digital Preservation will be held on October 3-6, 2016 in Bern, Switzerland. PREFORMA submitted a proposal for a workshop where to present the last achievements and to demonstrate the use of the conformance checkers developed by the suppliers during the prototyping phase.
