Workshop on Managing, Computing and Preserving Big Data for Research

EGI.eu and APARSEN organised an EGI Community Workshop focusing on “Managing, computing and preserving big data for research”. The workshop, which was held in Amsterdam from 4th until 6th of March 2014, brought together all scientific domains within the EGI community to discuss and develop requirements on e-infrastructures to foster and support the generation, analyse and usage of the research data. EC published the brochure on “Sustainable Urban Dynamics”

EC published the brochure “Research and Innovation on Sustainable Urban Dynamics”. The brochure is the result of a stakeholder workshop organised last year to shed light on the Horizon 2020, Societal Challenge 6 – Inclusive, innovative and reflective societies – chapter on “The promotion of sustainable and inclusive environments through innovative spatial and urban planning and design”. The website contains all information relevant to the project, including objectives, partners, contact persons, activities, outcomes, events, publications, as well as information on the tender and how to join the network. Europeana Photography updates and plenary meeting 2014

Immediately following the EuropeanaPhotography software seminar organized by partners GenCat and CRDI, a plenary meeting of the project was held in Barcelona on 30-31 January, again at the premises of Palau Moja. EAGLE (the Europeana network of Ancient Greek and Latin Epigraphy) joins Pelagios, a collective projects which aims to help introduce Linked Open Data goodness into online resources that refer to places in the historic past.
