The Japan Media Arts Festival is a comprehensive festival of Media Arts (Media Geijutsu) that honours outstanding works from a diverse range of media, from animation and comics to media art and games. The festival gives awards in each of its four divisions: Art, Entertainment, Animation and Manga. Entries are sought from professional, amateur, independent and commercial creators across the globe. More than a photography museum, the Musée de l’Elysée is a launch pad for artists. They are fully committed to helping artists produce new work through dedicated exhibitions and special projects. And this summer, they are thinking outside the box, the frame and the white cube! For the third edition of its reGeneration exhibition and book project, the Musée de l’Elysée selected 50 emerging artists from art schools all around the world. In addition, the museum have created an online archive of video interviews of all 50 artists and an augmented reality app that goes along with the “reGeneration 3″ book publication. Tu.ukz: right artist of the wrong new digital art

Arthur Machado, also known as Tu.ukz, is a 23 year old artist from Amazonia, Brazil. He started doing art when he was 17, drawing and painting. When he was 20 he discovered digital art. «It is taking a while – he says – until people admit computer art as art. But it’s normal, people need time to get used to innovation. Moreover, digital art is a completely new concept; it is not touchable, there are only data information, pixels and screens. To me, internet is the same as the environment of dream. And apparently, we are improving our way of dreaming day by day. You cannot touch it, but it is there».
