The latest version of veraPDF is now available to download on PREFORMA Open Source Portal. Please support our efforts by downloading and testing the software, your feedback is very important, it helps to improve the software. The veraPDF consortium is building an open source, industry-supported PDF/A validator. The eafip Workshop for public procurers in the Energy sector will be held in the Europahuset in Stockholm, Sweden on the 23rd November 2016. On 9 May 2016 a group of core partners of the EAGLE project founded IDEA – The International Digital Epigraphy Association in order to maintain, perpetuate and improve upon this ground breaking project. The goal of the association is the promotion of the use of advanced methodologies in the research, study, enhancement, and publication of “written monuments”. IDEA first General Assembly will take place in Pisa on 28 September 2016 together with a half day public event to present the Association to the wider audience. Continue reading

The Data on the Web Best Practices Working Group has published its primary document which is now a Candidate Recommendation. The document provides Best Practices related to the publication and usage of data on the Web designed to help support a self-sustaining ecosystem. The PREFORMA project is running a webinar series throughout September to present the three conformance checkers that are being developed for electronic documents, still images and audiovisual files. The webinars will: introduce the PREFORMA project, update participants on the current status of the conformance checkers, demonstrate the software, outline future plans, and give examples of how the community can contribute, or provide feedback. Keep up to date with the latest developments of veraPDF and support our efforts by downloading and testing the software. If you encounter problems, or wish to suggest improvements, please add them to the project’s GitHub issue tracker. veraPDF will be demonstrating the software at the PREFORMA Experience workshop on 23 November in Berlin.
