semanticcubeOn March 5th, 2014 PREFORMA project will organise a workshop in Brussels targeted to memory institutions to agree on the joint user model for tendering the PREFORMA conformance checker.

In other words: to agree on the expected behavior and functionality of the tools to be developed in the coming years by the software suppliers that will be selected out of the procurement that will be launched by the project.

 

These requirements will be further developed in the susequent design and prototype phases. But the set of requirements to be defined now will be used for selecting the software suppliers.

Results of the PREFORMA Experience Workshop
Presentations and photos of the PREFORMA Experience Workshop are now available online. Hosted at the Kulturforum in Berlin, the event featured keynote presentations by international experts in digital preservation, use cases and experiments of conformance checking at memory institutions and live demonstrations of the software developed by the three suppliers working in the project.
PREFORMA Experience Workshop
Following the successful Open Source Workshop, organised in Stockholm in April this year, the PREFORMA project invites all the members of the digital preservation community to attend the Experience Workshop – Improving long-term digital preservation, which will be held in Berlin on November 23, 2016.
PREFORMA Starts Prototyping Phase
The three consortia awarded with contracts for the prototyping phase - veraPDF consortium, Easy Innova and MediaArea - start development on open source file compliance checkers for documents, still images and moving image materials. This phase will last until December 2016.
