PASIG 2016 Conference


pasig2016_3Registration is open for the next PASIG (Preservation and Archiving Special Interest Group) conference in Prague:

Please note that the early bird rate of 200€ is available until the end of January. The cost from the 1st February onwards will be 250€.


This is a great opportunity for organisations setting up preservation repositories to collaborate and work directly with leaders in the field. The PASIG is focused on:

  1. addressing practical preservation questions;
  2. hearing about best practices and new technologies from global experts;
  3. investigating the convergence of on-premise architectures and the Cloud;
  4. how to set up, initiate, and audit the metrics of a preservation project;
  5. key global project updates; and
  6. solution provider and end customer collaboration.


pasig2016_1PASIG is a highly collaborative and interactive forum and generally attracts a large contingent of new participants.


A veraPDF workshop will be organised in the morning of the first day and the PREFORMA project will be presented on the second day the conference by Emanuel Lorrain from PACKED vzw.

veraPDF 0.18 released: try it!
The latest version of veraPDF open source, industry-approved PDF/A validator is now available to download in the PREFORMA Open Source Portal. It is accompanied by a beta version of our new documentation site which provides installation and user guides to help you get started with the veraPDF conformance checker. Please support our efforts by downloading and testing the software. Your feedback is very important, it helps to improve the software.
Open Preservation Foundation publishes Annual Report
The 2014-2016 Annual Report has been published by Open Preservation Foundation, looking back on the activities and achievements undertaken by the Foundation over the past two years. veraPDF, one of the three open source projects funded in the framework in PREFORMA, is considered a crucial technical success by providing the definitive implementation of a PDF/A validation tool, which was released in version 0.14 earlier this year.
