Life after PREFORMA: the future of veraPDF

The PREFORMA project that commissioned and funded the development of veraPDF draws to an end this year. Recent activity has been focused on PREFORMA acceptance testing, formalising the decisions of the PDF Association’s Technical Working Group and fixing issues reported by the community. veraPDF 1.0 released

The veraPDF consortium announced the release of veraPDF 1.0, an open-source industry-supported PDF/A validator. Led by the Open Preservation Foundation and the PDF Association, veraPDF validates all parts and conformance levels of ISO 19005 (PDF/A). The software is available under a MPLv2+/GLPv3+ license. PDF Day Australia

The PDF Association will feature veraPDF at their next event in Australia. This event, which will be held in Sydney’s central business district, brings policy makers, ISO committee members and electronic document and accessibility professionals together to discuss the significance of ISO standards for PDF as well as the technology and solutions available to business users of PDF documents. PDF Days Europe 2017

After the success of the 2016 edition, with over 150 attendees from all over the world and over 50 presentations, the PDF Days Europe 2017 will be held in Berlin again, giving visitors plenty of opportunity to learn about the applications and benefits of PDF, PDF/A, PDF/UA and more.
