On 10 February 2015, at the Salle Triangle of Centre Pompidou, in Paris, is being held the seminar “Social Hermeneutic Networks”, centred on the topic “museology, museography and new forms of address to the public”; Alain Garnier, Yuk Hui and Henry Story are intervening in the event. The seminar will show how the social network can become matter of study and subject of a dissertation or a course, as well as tool for the student, the researcher or the non-professional user. In adopting the concept of “migration” as paradigm of modernity, the MeLa project investigated the role of museums within the contemporary socio-cultural context, in order to identify new practises, tools and ways of representation and consumption able to foster an updated idea of museum, as space for dialogue and social cohesion in a transcultural Europe. This event was aimed at providing a critical overview on the main findings ensuing from the project’s investigations and a forward-looking discussion about the future of European museums. How can cultural institutions renew and remake themselves? How can they foster the shift from traditional hierarchies of Cultural Heritage (CH) to more fluid, decentred practices? Both RICHES and AICI are actively engaged in answering this question, central theme of the International Conference “Cultural Heritage: Recalibrating Relationships” held in Pisa, at the Museum of Graphics of Palazzo Lanfranchi, on 4-5 December 2014. As RICHES official associate partner, AICI brought its valuable contribution to the project event, participating in the conference and related poster session with several representatives from its member institutes. The first international conference of the RICHES project concluded with success. The event, organised by partner Promoter in the aristocratic venue of Palazzo Lanfranchi, was attended by over 150 people.

Pisa was chosen as seat for the International Conference “Cultural Heritage: Recalibrating Relationships”. On occasion of the Italian presidency of the Council of the European Union, the international consortium RICHES chose Pisa as seat for its important conference, held at the Museum of Graphics of Palazzo Lanfranchi on 4-5 December 2014. The event was organised by RICHES Italian partner Promoter Srl with the support of: Italian Ministry of Economic Development, Tuscany Region, Municipality of Pisa, University of Pisa and Fondazione Sistema Toscana (“Tuscany System Foundation”). On 9 September 2014, Net4Society published an article on its website announcing the first International Conference of the RICHES Project, being held in Pisa, at the Museum of Graphics of Palazzo Lanfranchi, on 4-5 December 2014. NET4SOCIETY is the International Network of National Contact Points for the Societal Challenge 6 and Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities in Horizon 2020. Continue reading
The workshop was celebrated on Tuesday, May 13th, at The Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC) Barcelona’s Campus and served as the foundation of the RICHES Project research areas. The workshop outcomes established an initial agreement of basic definitions and frameworks which will delineate RICHES’ fields of research and further study on the context of change in which European Cultural Heritage (CH) is transmitted and on the role of CH in the economic and social development of Europe.
