8.000 visitors, over 50 eminent guests, sold-out workshops, opening key-note given by Photoshop dad John Knoll, closing by Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn, directors of the Xmas movie “Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2”. On the 18th of October 2013 VIEW Conference closed its 14th edition and Computer Graphics proved itself to be the protagonist of the exhibition.

The VIEW Conference 14th edition, held at the Covention Centre Lingotto of Turin from the 15th to the 18th of October 2013, showed the succession of very popular talks, workshops and seminars, which the most important personalities of the world stage took part in, such as: Paul Debevec, 40 years old “Hollywood’s light master”, computer graphics pioneer and leader of the Institute for Creative Technologies of California; Roger Guyett, special effects wizard of the blockbuster “Star Trek – Intyo the Darkness”, and Apps and musical videos’ wizards such as Adam Volker, creative manager of Moonbot Interactive, Max Whitby, Touch Press CEO and two BAFTA prizes winner, Massimo Guarini of Ovosonico, Italian company creator of the videogame Murasaki Baby, and many more eminent speakers.

So as every year, VIEW Conference honoured the field experts’ talent with different awards:
the VIEW SOCIAL CONTEST, for movies, shortfilms, musical videos and advertisments related to social themes such as discrimination, immigration or violence against women; the VIEW AWARD, for animated shortfilms; ITALIANMIX, for works devoted to Italy, its symbols and its excellences.
‘This year, for the first time the VIEW AWARD 2013 was won by non-European authors, the Argentinian Ferdinando Maldonado and Jorge Tereso of 3dar studio, for the innovative, appealing and supercolored graphics of their shortfilm “Shave It”. The short struck us for its rapid rhythm and the original story, accompanied by the very Italian soundtrack “Viva la pappa col pomodoro”’ Gutierrez concluded.

VIEW Conference was preceded by VIEWFest, the most important festival of digital cinema held in Turin’s Cinema Massimo from the 11th to the 13th of October 2013: three days of films, shorts, videos and national previews with the presence of the director Dan Scanlon, which answered the questions of the students and of the public.
