EAGLE (the Europeana network of Ancient Greek and Latin Epigraphy) joins Pelagios, a collective projects which aims to help introduce Linked Open Data goodness into online resources that refer to places in the historic past. SCAPE and OPF’s hackaton on Hadoop

The SCAPE Project and OPF are running a hackaton in Vienna, on 2-4 December, at the Austrian National Library. The hackaton addresses to developers and pratictioners and focuses on Hadoop, an open source software framework that allows for the distributed processing of large data sets across clusters of computers using simple programming models. The Visionary Cross project innovates the study of Anglosaxon tradition

The Visionary Cross is an international project, aimed at drawing together a number of recent developments in the Digital Humanities and at creating a digital edition of a key group of Anglo-Saxons texts and monuments, related to the Cult of the Cross. As partner of the project, the Visual Computing Lab of ISTI-CNR has worked on the digitization of the Ruthwell Cross and on a web-based digital edition of “The Dream of the Rood” poem.
