RICHES first WORKSHOP at UIC

The workshop was celebrated on Tuesday, May 13th, at The Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC) Barcelona’s Campus and served as the foundation of the RICHES Project research areas. The workshop outcomes established an initial agreement of basic definitions and frameworks which will delineate RICHES’ fields of research and further study on the context of change in which European Cultural Heritage (CH) is transmitted and on the role of CH in the economic and social development of Europe. Collaborative acts of co-creation, together with an open and multidisciplinary discussion, foster the bringing together of Art and Technology. CNR digitizes Ottavio Simoneschi’s coins

The Visual Computing Lab of Pisa’s CNR (National Research Centre) presents the use of this new multimedia data, RTI images, in the process of digitalization and virtual presentation of the coin collection of the Palazzo Blu Museum (Pisa, Italy). The main goal of the project was to provide an improved access of ordinary people (visitors of the museum or web surfers) to the exposed numismatic materials. Continue reading


Cultural Heritage counts for Europe

The project Cultural Heritage Counts for Europe will gather, analyze, consolidate and widely disseminate the existing data on the impact of cultural heritage – i.e. the impact on the social, economic, cultural as well as environmental. It will result in a European mapping of both qualitative and quantitative evidence-based research carried out at the European, national, regional, local and/or sectorial levels. Continue reading

Perugia’s Archive of the Shared Memory

Thanks to the photographic exhibition “Perugia in cammino: storie che fanno la storia – Perugia under way: stories making history”, organised by the Archivio della Memoria Condivisa di Perugia (Perugia’s Archive of the Shared Memory), the city inhabitants will have the opportunity to retrace an evocative memory itinerary, told by vintage images.
