6th International Conference on Metadata and Semantic Research (MTSR 2012)

The 6th Metadata and Semantics Research Conference (MTSR 2012) aims at becoming the main event for researchers in the area of metadata and semantics with an inter-disciplinary focus.

The conference welcomes submissions from any disciplinary domain in which meta-descriptions of digital resources are used, defined or standardized (e.g. biology, biotechnology, agriculture, medicine, etc.)..


The conference welcomes the organization of special tracks focusing on particular domains or topics. Proposals for special tracks are welcome. Papers submitted to tracks undergo the same review procedures and are published in the same proceedings as those accepted for the main track.

•Track on Metadata & Semantics for Open Access Repositories, Research Information Systems and Infrastructures
•Track on Metadata & Semantics for Open Access Repositories & Infrastructures
•Track on Metadata & Semantics for Learning Infrastructures
•Track on Metadata & Semantics for Cultural Collections & Applications
•Track on Metadata & Semantics for Agriculture, Food & Environment
•Track on Linked data

Authors can submit either full papers (12 pages) or short papers (6 pages). More information on submission can be found at the MTSR 2012 call for papers web page:

The submitted papers will undergo peer review and accepted contributions will be published in the MTSR proceedings (Springer CCIS series).

July 20th, 2012: paper submission

September 1st, 2012: acceptance/rejection notification

September 15th, 2012: camera-ready papers due

November 28 - 30th, 2012: MTSR 2012
