veraPDF version 0.10 released

The latest version of veraPDF is now available for download in the PREFORMA Open Source Portal. veraPDF is building the definitive, file-format validator for all parts and conformance levels of ISO 19005 (PDF/A). This version contains several feature enhancements (conformance checker, command line, and test corpus) as well as some bug fixes. This marks the end of the PREFORMA project’s first re-design phase. veraPDF 0.8 now available

Version 0.8 is the latest release of veraPDF conformance checker for PDF/A. It features a re-designed command line interface (CLI) for validation and feature extraction. All interested users are invited to download and test the software from the PREFORMA Open Source Portal and report possible problems, issues or suggestions to the project’s GitHub issue tracker. Complete PDF/A-1b coverage now available in the 0.6 release of veraPDF

The veraPDF consortium is pleased to announce that the latest release of the veraPDF PDF/A validation software and test-suite currently under development is now available in the PREFORMA Open Source Portal. Led by the Open Preservation Foundation and the PDF Association, the veraPDF consortium is developing the definitive open source, file-format validator for all parts and conformance levels of ISO 19005 (PDF/A). KOST-Val released by the TI/A Standard Initiative team

KOST-Val is an open source validator for different file formats (TIFF, SIARD, PDF/A, JP2, JPEG) and Submission Information Package (SIP). It has been developed by KOST-CECO, is a Swiss coordination office which is member of the TI/A Standard Initiative team, a group of experts focussing on the definition of a specification of a Archival TIFF Format. Updates about the National Working Group in Sweden

20 October, 3 November and 4 November 2015: three appointments where you can learn more about PREFORMA in Sweden. Börje Justrell, Magnus Geber and Benjamin Yousefi from Riksarkivet, PREFORMA Project Coordinator, will talk in general about the project, of how to contribute, of the role of PDF/A and of the use of standardised file formats for preservation.
