The latest version of veraPDF is now available for download in the PREFORMA Open Source Portal. veraPDF is building the definitive, file-format validator for all parts and conformance levels of ISO 19005 (PDF/A). This version contains several feature enhancements (conformance checker, command line, and test corpus) as well as some bug fixes. This marks the end of the PREFORMA project’s first re-design phase. Version 0.8 is the latest release of veraPDF conformance checker for PDF/A. It features a re-designed command line interface (CLI) for validation and feature extraction. All interested users are invited to download and test the software from the PREFORMA Open Source Portal and report possible problems, issues or suggestions to the project’s GitHub issue tracker. The veraPDF consortium is pleased to announce that the latest release of the veraPDF PDF/A validation software and test-suite currently under development is now available in the PREFORMA Open Source Portal. KOST-Val is an open source validator for different file formats (TIFF, SIARD, PDF/A, JP2, JPEG) and Submission Information Package (SIP). It has been developed by KOST-CECO, is a Swiss coordination office which is member of the TI/A Standard Initiative team, a group of experts focussing on the definition of a specification of a Archival TIFF Format. 15 archivists met on 15th of December 2015 at the City Archives of Uppsala for the first preparatory meeting of the PREFORMA Working Group in Sweden. They participated actively, reporting issues in producing correct PDF/A files & offering test files. Continue reading
