Europeana Photography was present once again to the EVA conference in Florence, held on 7 – 8 May 2014.

DSCI0158A nice presentation by Emanuela Sesti of Fondazione Alinari highlighted to the present audience the progress of the project, and disseminated about the exhibition All Our Yesterdays, currently on show in Pisa until the 2nd June, and then travelling through Europe (next appointment: Leuven, January 2015).

The EVA Florence conference this year had as ususal a nice program of interesting speeches, and it is intended to be a forum for the user, supplier and scientific research communities to meet and exchange experiences, ideas and plans in the wide area of Culture & Technology.

The 2014 event included a plenary conference and 3 workshops dedicated to International Cooperation, to Innovation and Enterprise and to  e-Infrastructures for cultural content.

Europeana Photography at NALIS Forum 2015
On 12 May 2015, in Sofia, at the Ball Room of Radisson Blu Grand Hotel, the 4th international conference organised by the NALIS Foundation was held, under the title "The Challenge to Collaborate in the Digital Age". As a special guest, Antonella Fresa delivered a speech aimed at emphasizing the sociological impact of digital cultural heritage and technologies. Recently concluded EU-project Europeana Photography was presented as successful initiative in the field.
Experimenting with photography
Photography is both a means of personal expression and a witness of present and past days: therefore it's about cultural heritage and about creativity, and it is a wealth of possibilities for experimentations. Europeana Photography and Europeana Space are two projects strictly linked one to the other on this topic.

Organized by the Royal Anthropological Institute and the British Museum, this gathering of professionals from either the artistic/creative field or the academic world, offered the opportunity to anyone active at the crossroads of both disciplines to showcase an oeuvre or project to the conference attendants. All Our Yesterdays, a huge success for the photographic exhibition!
The flux of visitors at Palazzo Lanfranchi was more or less continuous since the opening (11th April), but a boom of visits was registered on the 17th May during the European Night of the Museums. In this occasion the exhibition was open till midnight and almost 800 visitors crowded the vintage rooms of the palace where the photographs are hosted, in a truly charming environment.
