eAGE2013 Banner - OLAHeld under the patronage of His Excellency Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research of Tunisia, the event is organized by the Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN) and hosted by the Tunisian Computing Center Al Khwarizmi (CCK) in cooperation with the European Commission, the League of Arab States, Association of Arab Universities, and the international research and education networks in Europe, USA, Africa and Asia.

Events and Activities

ASREN is becoming more visible and more active in the region and beyond. It has developed a new shareholder scheme with more Arab NRENs joining as well as more supporting organizations. Following on the success of e-AGE in 2011 and 2012, e-AGE 2013 will include main event in 12-13 December and will be preceded with several workshops, tutorials and meetings on 10-12 December 2013.

In e-AGE 2014 the main theme was “Intercontinental Connectivity of the Pan Arab Network”.
ASREN newsletter special issue
ASREN Arab States Research and Education Network just released a special issue of the newsletter with the occasion of the great event e-AGE 2013, the conference held in Gammarath (Tunisia), 12-13 December 2013, including reports, inteviews and events related to the recent activites of the ASREN network.
The Arab past, current and future situation about e-infrastructures
ASREN is working hard towards developing NRENs in many Arab countries including Bahrain, Lebanon, Iraq and Libya. ASREN is also approaching other countries that do not have NRENs to start. ASREN, together with NRENs should work hard on promoting the use of ICT and advanced e-Infrastructures and joint research projects towards a better research and education.
