Call for Contribution iPRES 2019

ipres2019We are pleased to announce that the Call for Contributions for iPRES2019 is now open. iPRES is the premier international conference on the preservation and long term management of digital materials. The 16th International Conference on Digital Preservation will be held on September 16-20, 2019 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

We invite original contributions that describe practice- and theory-informed approaches to scientific models, daily practice, collaborative efforts, creative solutions, and the progress your organization has made in digital preservation.

Call for Contributions
We welcome full papers and short papers as well as proposals for workshops, tutorials, posters, panel discussions and for a hackathon. Submissions should relate to the overall conference theme, Eye on the Horizon, describing the cutting edge of our domain and crossing into other domains.

We encourage submissions which describe collaborations across and beyond cultural heritage domains, and we welcome proposals that describe research and practice in agencies of all sizes and in all sectors. iPRES 2018 BOSTON - Where Art and Science Meet - The Art In the Science & The Science In the Art of Digital Preservation - will be co-hosted by MIT Libraries and Harvard Library on September 24-27, 2018. PREFORMA hands-on sessions in Europe
During May 2017, successful hands-on sessions and workshops have been organised by PREFORMA in several places to explain to the participants what does conformance checking mean, why is file format validation so important in long-term digital preservation, how to create their own policy profiles and how to download, install, configure and use the conformance checker to analyse their files.
PREFORMA @ IPRES 2016
PREFORMA's proposals for a workshop ("Quality standards for preserving digital cultural heritage") and a talk ("Status of CELLAR: Update from an IETF Working Group for Matroska and FFV1") have been both accepted at IPRES 2016, the longest standing digital preservation conference in the world, bringing together key theorists, researchers and practitioners to explore the latest trends, innovations, policies and practices in digital preservation.
Software benchmarking in digital preservation
This webinar will widen the conversation to include those who were unable to attend IPRES, provide a summary of key concepts, but most importantly, provide an opportunity to join efforts with BenchmarkDP, OPF and the PREFORMA Project to establish an initial set of high-interest scenarios for benchmarking and identify opportunities for the community for future collaboration.
